Guided Unwind:

The unwind will be integral with the machine but able to move axially on linear bearings, actuated by an ultrasonic web guidance system. Tension will be supplied via a pneumatically actuated brake controlled by an auto tension transducer roll system.

The unwind batch will be carried on a SVECOM self-centring bladder airshaft suitable for 6” ID cores. Each airshaft would have integral bearing housings, which would locate into pneumatically operated batch bar clamps. Connection to the brake would be via a dog toothed coupling with one half mounted directly onto the airshaft. The system would be interlocked to prevent the machine from running with the airshaft unrestrained.
