HSK (Soft) WIDE WEB CLOSED FRAME EMBOSSING MACHINE:

Single Nip Embosser:

The embossing head will comprise of one embossing nip designed to accommodate the range of embossing roll sizes from 18” circumference up to 36” circumference rolls. This enables patterns of various repeat lengths to be run.

The emboss rolls are of single/double shell construction depending on diameter and are internally heated via hot oil pumped through a rotary joint in one journal end of the roll.

The surface of the emboss rolls is in a polished chrome-plated finish to enable the embossing shims to be attached using the conventional adhesive process.

The embossing roll is pneumatically loaded against a precision heat resistant rubber covered roll which is internally cooled via chilled water introduced via a rotary joint fitted in one journal end.

Control of the embossing nip gap is via manually adjustable precision wedge systems fitted between the bearing housings of the embossing and backing rolls.

Both the rolls incorporate special dedicated bearing assemblies, which are located in the housings and which enable the rolls to be quickly and easily removed from the machine.

This feature is particularly necessary where frequent pattern changes are required.

The rotary joints for the hot oil and chilled water feature a quick disconnect and self-sealing design enabling roll changes to be quickly and cleanly achieved.

It must be appreciated that the emboss rolls are dedicated to one pattern repeat hence where several repeat lengths are required each will require its own roll assembly consisting of roll, bearings, rotary joint and self-sealing quick disconnect fittings.

Sensing of the hot oil and chilled water temperatures is achieved via temperature probes located on the inlet and outlet supply pipes to each roll and are indicated by digital read-outs located on the main control panel.

Tension prior to the embossing head will be independent of the unwind and will be applied by a draw nip after the unwind with control via a transducer roll.

Carried off the side frames prior to entry to the embosser would be double sided ionised air web cleaner to ensure the web is free from contaminants on entry into the embossing nip.

As the web exits the embossing head it will be taken around a driven water-cooled roll to help eliminate any residual heat left in the material after embossing.
