Specifications:

a) Web width: 800mm, 1000, 1200mm & 1650mm

b) Max batch sizes: 500mm diameter, Approx 300kgs weight x 410mm wide equivalent to 4000 metres 19 micron film

c) Core sizes: 6” ID cardboard cores @ unwind and rewind

e) Pneumatic brake at guided centred unwind with auto tension via transducer roll

f) Driven tension control nip prior to rubber roll with transducer control

The unwind is designed to accommodate the batch sizes quoted in item (b)

j) Shim roll heating via a 24-250 Conair unit (i.e. 24Kw @ max. 250º C) fitted with cooling rated @ 24000 Kcals/hr @ 150º C.

k) Cooling via Conair TCA25S chiller fitted with an open tank and primary and secondary pumps.

l) 1 off 18” circumference shim roll complete with bearing housings, drive gear, rotary joints and quick disconnect couplings.
The machine is designed to accommodate shim rolls of different repeat lengths up to a maximum of 30” circumference.
The different sizes are available as options (see options paragraph)

m) 1 off cavity backing roll complete with bearings, rotary joints, drive couplings etc and covered in special formulation rubber with ground and polished finish.

n) 1 off set of manually adjustable precision wedges situated between the shim roll bearing housings and backing roll bearing housings.

p) Emboss nip pressure is via 2 off independently controlled pneumatic cylinders located on the machine side frames.

r) 2 off batch bars in high tensile aluminium tube, for lightness, one for the unwind and one for the rewind each complete with a pair of pneumatic air chucks to suit 6” ID cardboard cores.

s) The drive system incorporates a 3-motor variable speed inverter drive system utilising transducer rolls to measure web tension at the strategic points. This enables a ‘closed loop’ control system providing accurate tension control to be achieved.
All the drives are situated in a desk type floor standing panel with local remote panels machine mounted as required.

t) The machine would be fully wired and tested at our works prior to despatch to your satisfaction. It would be fully guarded to conform to current HSE and EU regulations for the supply of new machinery and would be supplied with a CE mark and the appropriate supporting documentation.
It would be finish painted to a high standard.

Options:

1/ SHIM TABLE. 1 off precision shim table to facilitate the accurate positioning of the shims on to the shim roll.
The table is designed to accommodate the range of shim rolls from 18” circumference minimum to 30” circumference maximum.

2/ WEB CLEANER. 1 off double sided web driven contact web cleaner capable of removing particles down to 1 micron this provides the following benefits.

3/ SPARE SHIM ROLLER. Spare Shim roll with a ground chrome finish and polished to 6CLA. The roll is complete with cartridge bearings; rotary union and flexible pipes, quick disconnect self sealing half couplings and drive gear.

4/ SPARE BACKING ROLLER. Spare Water-cooled backing roll covered in special compound with a ground and polished finish. The roll is complete with cartridge bearings, rotary union, flexible pipes and drive gear.

5/ SET OF SPARES. Specific consumable spares including drive belts, web cleaner rolls, electrical spares, bearings etc suitable to provide breakdown cover for ONE machine

6/ GUILLOTINE A suitable shim-cutting guillotine is required, see separate page for this information.

INSTALLATION & COMMISSIONING:
Provision of engineers on site for installation and commissioning system and training at our site and / or clients at a special fee can be arranged..


DELIVERY: Of the above items, including the embossing machines would be approximately 18 working weeks from receipt of official order to commencement of testing in our works.

WARRANTY: 12 MONTHS FROM MANUFACTURE SUBJECT TO OUR TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
